Our client, a global PPC advertiser, was struggling with broken and unreliable tracking.
- Browser restrictions and privacy laws (like GDPR) made traditional pixels inaccurate.
- Campaigns across Meta, Taboola, and other platforms weren’t attributed correctly.
- Third-party cookies could no longer be used.
They needed a privacy-first, future-proof solution that could unify tracking across platforms, ensure compliance, and still deliver fast, enterprise-grade performance.
How We Managed It:
To solve this, we built a Universal Tracking System (UTS) powered by Google Tag Manager Server (sGTM) hosted on Stape.io.
Here’s what we did:
- One Snippet for All Campaigns
We replaced multiple tracking tags with a single lightweight snippet. It captured click IDs (fbclid, tabclid, etc.), stored them without duplication, and simplified integration.
- Server-Side Reliability
We set up a secure sGTM server with TLS, CORS rules, and strict validation. Events were routed directly to Meta CAPI and Taboola for clean, accurate attribution.
- Privacy & Compliance
- Collected only essential attribution parameters.
- No personal data stored.
- No third-party cookies used.

- Built retry logic with exponential backoff.
